    History Dept marks 40th anniversary

    The Department of History and International Studies, University of Ilorin, has released the programmes for its 40th anniversary celebration coming up this Thursday (May 18, 2017).
    According to a statement by the Head of the Department, Dr. I. A. Jawondo, among the programmes lined up for the celebration are Anniversary Lecture, HOD's Football Tournament, Anniversary Dinner, Awards and Inauguration of Alumni Forum.
    The statement made available to Unilorin Bulletin disclosed that the Anniversary Lecture, entitled “Cassette Recorders, Microfiche Readers and Personal Computers: Traversing the Methodological Landscape from Analogue to Digital History of Nigeria”, will be delivered by the Vice-Chancellor of Kwararafa University, Wukari, Taraba State, Prof. Yakubu Ochefu at the University Auditorium by 10.00a.m.
    The Dinner, Awards and Inauguration of the Alumni Forum will hold same day at the Banquet Hall by 6.00p.m.
    The statement added that the former Council Chairman of the University of Port Harcourt, Alhaji Lasisi Kolawole Jimoh will be the Chairman of the occasion, while the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari is the Royal Father. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ilorin, Prof. AbdulGaniyu Ambali (OON), is the Chief Host, while the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, University of Ilorin, Prof. Ahmad Abdussalam is the Host.
    Members of the University Community and the general public are cordially invited.
