Raul set to become a coach

Few were sure what Raul Gonzalez Blanco was going to do after hanging up his boots, including the player himself, but he has now decided to dedicate himself to coaching.

Since returning to the club in 2017, Raul has spent a lot of time studying the club's youth set-up, while he also took in some training sessions and travelled with the senior team on occasion.

Even during his time in Qatar the former No.7 spent his days watching matches, looking at tactics and preparing himself for this journey he has now fully committed to.

The former Real Madrid captain will earn his coaching badges in April on the next Spanish FA elite course, a programme which is reserved for former international players or those who spent 10 years in the top division.

He will then take over Real Madrid's Juvenil B youth team, replacing Alvaro Benito, who is to be promoted to Juvenil A.

There will be further movements in the dugouts of the Real Madrid academy, given that Santiago Solari appears set to leave Casilla, with *Guti *in line to take over after completing some very impressive work during his time working with the club's youth.
